afternoon: orthopedic

night: cat therapy

first: stress for our school

second: stress for our planned trip

third: hope all ends well

back to school today

after scary turns on skis

brought disaster home

i wish i could live

on feathery flakes, cold runs

and dreams realized

alas, fear has won

and Why Not has become Why?

(as i always knew)

twenty years later

i’ve wooed him onto the slopes

to start something new

i’ve piqued their interest

if only in my blog’s words

at least it’s something

changing roles today

as we cross state lines; drivers;

New Mexico calls

art, jewelry, friendship

found in plazas, museums,

hot tubs, and shopping

perfect getaway

for some girl-chosen desserts

hard-won and deserved
