when April snow comes,
she draws perfect silhouettes
before spreading soil
snow trickles through trees
as winter holds fast to spring
emptying our park
despite a cold snap
brought by April treachery
spring blooms bring beauty
perfect skyline view
from this lonely bleacher seat

for her high school gymnastics
in a pandemic
no medals for her.
just bravery: a new sport
and some kind teammates
even when we lose

ski season is done.

full of happiness.
