A Turn of Luck

our black cat smiles
for her Halloween spirit 
to seep through the leaves

But the Glare

here we are again 
begging for an opening,
trapped between closed doors

soap box continues 
with a broken-down kitty
too tired to care

i want the cute cat
and not the cracked-up pavement 
through the broken woods

cats will rule the earth
(i was told at a party)
because they are queens

no disturbance here
queen cat doesn't mind sawing
from her planted throne

is this for me, Mom?
the perfect kitty setting
for my striped haunches

rainy Mother's Day
(cantaloupe aches for planting)
my babies: plants, pets

crabapple blossoms
create a cute kitty cave
on a cool May morn

a new moon rising
bringing blossoms to springtime
blooms: the cat's meow
