this week’s garden blooms
September brings golden leaves
but first? color burst

Frosted, Ready

first zucchini bread

(waiting for winter like me)

the sweetest present

a zucchini grows

from a few fetal flowers

to Monday night’s meal

of little promise

this underdeveloped root

(thought i’d just get blooms)

but underground joy

arrives when you keep digging

to find the rainbow
