we’ve played a fair game
yet they throw the cards at us
unshuffled shit show

Batter Up
my dad’s baseball dream:
a walk-off home run to end
our Fathers’ Day date
The Only Home is Colorado
mountain views bring peace
better than a city day
our summer freedom
camping in nature:
reminder of what matters–
family connections
weekend getaway:
my moose, their antlers, our love
better than the beach
Made in Colorado
over Trail Ridge Road
you’ll visit every season
(finding home in each)
from spring to winter,
Colorado wins my heart
the best home on earth
family’s found here too:
in fires and puffed pancakes
bigger than ourselves
it’s that blue sky range
just past the elk on the trail
that leads our hearts home
Rooted
both inside and out
shades of green bring light and life
to our humble home
ReLife Cycle
bright summer morning
lit by sunstreamed river view
as seen from my bike
lazy afternoon
peppered by cottonwood shade
for a nice ride home
Galloping
career doubts reign in
a week stolen from summer
runaway horses
Hidden Joy
kitties make our lives
filled with wonder and laughter
no matter what age
Brightness
beauty in nature
found in poppies and chalk art
on summer Sundays
Ecuador Bound
excitement abounds
with an overdue award
and the trip of dreams
